MLC PR
Vomit in the booths of the Viper Room, trashed rooms at The Roosevelt, and brawls between band members backstage are all pretty standard in the lives of a music publicist. 28-year-old president of MLC Mona Loring, and her kooky sidekick Jr. Publicist Jordyn Borczon, are quickly becoming the go-to girls in the indie music scene for insight into the PR world. The pair can be seen at showcases for major and indie labels, mingling on red carpets, and have become regulars at venues up and down the Sunset strip.
The question is: where did the duo emerge?
Over the past two years, Loring has established one of the most up and coming music public relations firms to date, working with artists from all over the United States, Germany and Australia. Their names have been thrown into the music scene through their buzzworthy parties, word of mouth referrals, and most importantly, their recent firm expansion and innovative collaboration with Sony Records promoter Jennifer Lyneis.
It all may sound like fun and games, but the MLC girls are best known for their hard work in the industry and enough bark in their bite to pull off some serious media coverage. From promoting music videos on the Internet to in-studio performances at radio stations, the girls have run the gamut and done it well.
In a world where the music industry is changing vastly, the independent artist is rising from the ashes and dominating the music scene with the help of firms like MLC PR and M. Loring Communications, and rules of the industry have been thrown out the window. Huge PR firms are a thing of the past and hands on public relations tactics are absolutely the future.
After all, isn’t it nice when you actually know your own publicist?
