WONKA VISION WELCOMES YOUR BLACK STAR TO OUR BAND ROSTER!

After circling the states on Elliott’s final tour, the boys in Your Black Star decided to drop everything and hit the high seas, extensively touring Japan, Australia and the United Kingdom. Garnering numerous spins on BBC 1 and BBC 6 as well as critical, international acclaim, YBS took the long way home, capturing fans abroad before cultivating them in the US. Now they're ready to hit the pavement back home. With over 100 shows a year, strong college radio play, and a colossal new album, on October 17th Your Black Star are ready to storm the States. “One of my editors sent me a copy of their old record and I was hooked”, states Justin Luczejko owner of Wonka Vision Records. “After seeing them live it was a no-brainer, I wanted to do this record immediately. Their sound was so loud, I was blown away when I found out they were a three piece and weren’t hiding a fourth member behind an amp backstage, ala some band from Chicago that will go nameless”. Following a long and intense meeting held in the Bleacher seats of a Phillies/Dodgers double-header in Philadelphia, Wonka Vision Records, home of Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer and KittyKat DirtNap, inked a deal with the band and is about to present the long awaited American debut of Louisville, Kentucky’s YOUR BLACK STAR.

January 5th @ 2:30 am

Every Time I Die van crash.. Band vocalist Keith Buckley articulates; I'm gonna have to agree with lambgoaters on this one, we really SHOULD have died. The first thing that went through my head when i realized our van was doing cartwheels off the I-80 was "I bet Cliff Burton is going through Andys head". Then I was all "fuck! Jordan must have flinched right before hitting the launch ramp we built" then some glass broke, a shitload of poop fell out, the roof was at my feet, Durst (who was surfing on top of the van like styles in teen wolf) was thrown into a PERFECT 720 double backflip and totally stuck the landing, and my long island iced tea was spilt all over my 1/2 pound of alaskan king crab legs.

We want to thank the Laramie Wyoming police department for arriving at the speed of light maple syrup. Within the blink of an eye (for someone in a 45 minute coma) they (I mean HE) was on the scene- belittling, yelling, arguing and refusing to let us stay warm in his police car. We thank god for keeping us relatively injury free, since it wasn't until an hour and a half later that we arrived at the hospital to get xrayed and have our urine sampled, which was fucking weird because nobody else had to donate a sample except me and the nurse stood behind me- yelling- the entire time AND she made me pee into an empty tissue box instead of a cup.

At the end of the day, to anyone concerned, the band is fine. We are rejoining the Story of the Year tour in a few days after our manditory 5 days rest for pulled muscles (the muscle Andy pulled was actually done about 2 hours BEFORE the accident at an adult video store) and bruises and will be, obviously, heading out with Bleeding Through in February. We apologize to anyone in the midwest and western coast looking forward to seeing us, but you will have your chance again soon. Thank you to all who called or sent nudes via text. and p.s MARV LEVY is back with the bills organization! The bills make me wanna shout! Almost as loud as an injury suffered in a terrible van accident.”

Catch Every Time I Die in one piece at the following shows and don’t miss them this summer on Warped Tour!

Wonka Vision’s staff raised $300 this weekend for the Hurricane Relief. We spent on medicines [Tylenol, Cold Meds, Feminine products, etc.] to send to the people who need it most. Wonka photographer, Zoe Strauss took $1500 out of her own savings account, flew to Alabama and is on her way to personally deliver the drugs. Zoe is staying till Tuesday and we salute her and wish the best of luck.

On another note my mother, a critical care nurse is heading to New Orleans this week. She sat through eight hours of Red Cross training this weekend. As it stands, there have been zero nurses from outside of the South sent there since disaster relief efforts begun. She will be one of 6 nurses coming in to help for critical care. I'm nervous, proud and very grateful. If anyone can help us send more meds with my Mom this week please contact me at justin@wonkavisionmagazine.com for details.

Sincerely,
Justin Luczejko
