SOUND BITES: WEB-EXCLUSIVES

THE GLOW
myspace.com/theglowboston

On the agenda: Look for a tour spanning the west coast and Mexico. In the months ahead, the band hopes to release a few new songs as well as unveiling a revamped website.

Favorite place to play: “Any place that doesn't put microphones on a drum set and then tell the guitarist to turn down.”

Actual MySpace comment: "My nipple hurts. Will you fix it?"

In their own words: "The Glow sounds like friends that are making music together."

D.J.’s take: With an organ player like Ben Kettleson, who needs friends?

STRENGTH BEHIND TEARS
myspace.com/sbt

On the agenda: A little thing they call "the tour."

Civic involvement: SBT likes to keep it real and volunteer to help out the people next door. Recently they helped raise money to keep a recreation center open.

Ridiculous press quote offering: "Strength Behind Tears has always placed themselves a cut above the rest when it comes to their stage presence and high energy performance every time they play."

Actual MySpace comment: "We gonna have another fun-ass sleepover, this time without Monica, hahahah."

Melissa’s take: SBT yells. A lot. Maybe that's where all the strength comes from.

OUR TIME
myspace.com/fuckourtime

On the agenda: The band will begin work on their yet-to-be-titled full-length. They hope to get into the studio later this summer, or in the fall.

Favorite place to play: "Our favorite venue has always been the Mill Hill Basement in Trenton, NJ. The Basement has been like our home since we started as a band. We were charmed by the Basement because it is an honest DIY operation with a loyal local community."

Actual MySpace comment: "I’ve got $5, give me a shirt, bitches!"

In their own words: "We are an eclectic group of musicians. We draw influence from H2O, Tsunami Bomb, Strike Anywhere, and Thrice."

D.J.’s take: While they sprinkle bits of all of the above, their greatest influence may be modern day social and political injustices.
